If you still aren’t sick of the iPhone, watch this ;-)
PicLens is a new Firefox / Safari (Mac only) extension which allows you to view images on popular social websites (with Flickr, Facebook and few others supported) in a very cool way. It works with websites providing Media RSS as well.
How it works?
Basically when you go to one of the supported websites, after you move your mouse over an image, a PicLens icon appears. When you click it, PicLens launches the full-screen mode, where you can browse all the images published on a page - e.g. in someone’s album on Flickr. You can also view the pictures in a slideshow.
This is definitely an extension worth trying - it is a pretty fun way to browse photos online and it brings some eye-candy to your browser.
This is an interesting thing for all Digg fans: Kevin Rose and his buddy Alex Albrecht were interviewed by CNBC while waiting in a line outside a store in San Francisco to get an iPhone (or two).
It’s pretty funny to see them as regular people waiting in a line and being interviewed by a person who probably doesn’t have a clue who they are, and how important they are on the Web :)
Zoodango is a new social network aimed at “hip urban professionals” and people who are passionate about their career, business and lifestyle, as it is described on the homepage.
The main purpose of Zoodango is to encourage its members not only to get connected on-line, but also to meet new people face-to-face and develop a real world, business relationships. The website lets you find local events in your area and invite people you would like to meet there.
Zoodango also doesn’t want to be a completely serious, boring social network for professionals. Apart from entering your basic information about your job, education and experience to your profile, you can also expose your personality in a way you can do on most non-professional social networks. You can post links to your favorite websites, write a blog, or post your pictures and videos.
In my humble opinion, this idea for a social network pretty much makes sense. I like the website’s design, it’s clean and pleasant to browse. Although I will probably never become a regular user (because I live outside U.S. and Canada where the network seems to be most popular), I will keep an eye on Zoodango and watch how it grows.
